Mike Jackson is a visionary builder, entrepreneur, and television personality, best known as one of the stars of HGTV’s hit series “Married to Real Estate”, where he and his wife, Egypt Sherrod, captivate audiences by blending family life with real estate, renovation, and design expertise. The hit show, which is headed for their fourth season, will be seen in over 82 countries by this February. The dynamic duo also gained national recognition as the Season 3 champions of HGTV’s competitive show “Rock the Block”. In his latest venture, Mike will serve as the host of “HGTV’s Smart Home 2025”, further solidifying his place as a leader in the home renovation and construction space.
As the owner of Jackson Draper Renovations, Mike brings a lifetime of expertise to his craft. Born and raised in Hempstead, Long Island, his passion for woodworking, sketch art, and building was evident from a young age. Under the mentorship of his grandfather and uncle, he began his career as an apprentice in their construction company. Determined to refine his skills, Mike attended trade school in New York, where he specialized in sheet metal, HVAC, and later woodworking. His drive and commitment led him to become a successful general contractor, combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative design solutions.
While mastering his career in construction, Mike also cultivated a second passion as a professional DJ. Known by his stage name “DJ Fadelf,” he traveled the world as the official DJ for the Grammy Award-winning group, The Product G&B, best known for their collaboration on Carlos Santana’s iconic hit “Maria Maria.” His talents in music brought him into the orbit of his now-wife, Egypt Sherrod, a leading radio personality at the time. The couple reconnected years later when Mike’s construction company was hired to renovate one of her properties, sparking both a romantic and professional partnership that continues to thrive and inspire, today.
Together, Mike and Egypt have built a formidable real estate and design empire while co-hosting their popular podcast, “The Marriage & Money Podcast with Egypt & Mike”, where they share insights on business, relationships, faith and family. Proud parents to three daughters, Harper, Kendall and Simone, Mike and Egypt have seamlessly blended their personal and professional lives, creating a lasting legacy both on and off-screen. Now based in Atlanta, Mike continues to push boundaries in the construction industry through his work with Jackson Draper Renovations, while expanding his influence in media and design.
